H. S. V. (In Hoc Signo Vinces), displaying at its center the monogram XP and, on the transverse arms of the Cross, the Greek letters Alpha (A) and Omega (Ω). The cross is surmounted by the Royal Crown.

The medal cross is equipped with two pins for quick attachment to the dress.
