The "custom-made" baroque chalice

The baroque chalice PL107 is a precious example of the skilful work of the master craftsman.

It is made entirely of 800 silver, both in the external and internal structure. It is not a cast chalice, but a completely handmade work, made up of several pieces and decorated according to the precise indications of the client.

The cup, in gilded silver to receive the blood of Christ, is surmounted by the under-cup engraved in the Baroque style. Among the decorative elements drawn from the vegetable world, three medals stand out in which bunches of grapes and lamb are engraved.

The stem, all chiselled with the typical Baroque elements, leads to the base of the Baroque chalice, also richly chiseled: three medals stand out among the acanthus leaves in which the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Marian symbol and the bunch of grapes, symbol of the blood of Christ.

Remarkable is the chiselling and punching work done on this baroque goblet, the details of which are highlighted thanks to the patient and meticulous work of burnishing the silver.
