This early Christian white chasuble presents a novelty compared to the early Christian chasubles proposed so far by Progetto Liturgico: the "V" neck.
For his priestly ordination, one of our customers wanted a chasuble that was on the one hand precious in its shape and on the other simple in its decoration. Thus the right combination of medieval and early Christian style, and the use of precious fabrics and raw materials, has given life to this exclusive early Christian white chasuble with high collar.
The stylistic characteristics of the early christian white chasuble
The early Christian white chasuble is made of a precious wool fabric that contains a golden metallic thread in the weft. The shape of the chasuble is "bell-shaped", tight on the shoulders and wide on the bottom.
The upright collar, typical of the medieval style, is instead made of golden brocade fabric. The same fabric is used for the stoles that decorate the front and back of the chasuble.
Embroidered crosses embellished with delicate pastel-colored crystals adorn the stolons. The stolon of the front is sewn onto the fabric of the chasuble only in the upper part and left free in the remaining part. This particular stylistic trick allows the creation of spectacular folds on the front of the early Christian white chasuble.
Finally, a golden agreman frames the entire profile of the early Christian white chasuble.
